Why Brew Organic?
Have you had your daily dose of Malathion?  How about your Paraquat or Endothall? If you have had a beer today, you might be surprised to find that the answer could be yes.  These aren't vitamins but are toxic pesticides and herbicides that are commonly used on barley and hops, and they have been linked to some pretty nasty diseases.  Before World War II, without the existence of pesticides, every farmer farmed organically.  Since then chemical use in farming has been on the rise and so has the incidence of disease caused by the chemicals.

So why brew with organically grown ingredients?  When you choose to brew using organic ingredients you are avoiding all of the harmful chemicals that have been used in conventional farming.  Furthermore, you are supporting farming practices that actually can improve the land instead of degrading it as conventional farming does. In addition, to the many environmental benefits of organically grown ingredients they make great beer! Generally speaking organically grown malts have a lower protein content which can lead to clearer beer without the use of chemical clarification. Lastly, because the malt and hops are free of chemical residue, beer made with organic malt has been known to have increased mash efficiencies and faster fermentation times.  So brew like your ancestors... brew organic!
